Yes, Still the vast majority of the time showing the site (unless the TOS states otherwise…as I said before, some projects I’ve done support only M$IE7), but I generally do a browser detect & try to politely tell the user “Yo, Wake Up!  Use a decent browser!  Are you stuck in 2003/2005!?!”  😉

I got this general idea from http://panic.com/coda.  They show their warning with conditional comments, but I chose to do it with a php browser detect.

Honestly guys, if more of us do this kind of thing, do you think it will help?  Especially if we link to FF/Safari/Camino/Opera and not IE?  ha!

My 80 year old grandfather is a user of Firefox b/c he hates the way sites render in IE.  Granted, he learned to program C++ when he was 73…but still, I think you get my point.  (besides the fact that my Grandfather kicks some rear!  HA!).  Sorry, I feel as though I’m on a mission from God!  😉

    Kindest Regards,

I have seen a lot of people moving to IE 7 over the last year (my e-commerce software has excellent user states) particularly with the older crowd. it’s changed to something like 70 / 30 (IE 6/7) to 40/60.

    Made me smile 😊
