As a side note, I hope the CP will format well for those of us who bump the text size up a couple of notches.

It’s already March and Leopard came out last October. When were those screen shots taken? 😉

I’m very pleased to see that the admin area has been revamped. Looking forward to more details being revealed.

Derek what host are you with. It seems as though your page with the screen-shots has gone down? Or have you taken the page access down or something?

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Hmm as soon as I posted they came back online again. Sorry about that. Must be all of us hitting the page so hard 😉

Also not meaning to look completely stupid or anything but did you mean that the system has Leopard on or doesn’t and how could you tell anyway?

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    @leevi,

    I thought it was:

Just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean no one’s out to get you.

    😉

Well, here’s some details. Derek J is talking right now and I’m a real slow typer…

Accessories - New Tabs at the bottom of control panel (you select where each Accessory shows up) that can hold just about anything - including Monty Python videos (not kidding).

Looks like all flavors of Add Sitename extension are no longer necessary. In fact, it appears that Extensions as we know them are “dead” - as the CP seems to be running on MVC (module view controller) setup that will make modifying the CP very easy.

The Members module is now it’s own section with it’s own admin area - this may bode well for improvements there.

Dynamic filtering in the CP, jQuery tablesorting and subsorting by holding down “Shift”, AJAX paging in the CP - Preference editing inline for each template in the template groups.

Add and delete fields without leaving the publish page, and AJAX resorting of the fields on the fly…just drag them up and down to position. Only available to admins.

They are dropping the word “weblog” for version 2.0.

Built-in formatting buttons on textarea fields.

Write-Mode for entering content - gets rid of all distractions when writing a piece of content.

Ah, so that explains the tab labelled “Albatross” and keeps me from asking a Very Stupid Question.

Leopard did away with the brushed metal look for Safari. Using Occam’s razor we can reasonably assume Derek hasn’t upgraded. But why would we want to do that? 😊

Paul just indicated, without saying anything specific, that revisions have been made to the way member “themes” are modified. For what it’s worth, he was very clear about referring to them as “themes” as opposed to “templates”.

Yes but you can get rid of the brushed metal effect anyway so I thought maybe you had seen something else somewhere! 😉

    Best wishes,

    Mark
