I am using LG TinyMCE. Sorry for the confusion.

I would recommend to everyone having problems that you go ahead and download fresh copies of the extension, and TinyMCE from their site, and re-uploading them - that could very well resolve the issues.

One further note is that tinyMC has a stable version 2, and a “beta” version 3. The version 2 is known to work, but people have reported trouble getting the version 3 to work. I’d encourage the use of the stable version at this point.

I am also having a problem with the TinyMCE Editor not displaying in the publish area. I am using method 2 ask described on the Wiki. I have carried out the following steps:

The TinyMCE editor still does not display.Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks.
Well… I just tried several different setups of tinyMCE, and nothing works so far… I’ve got MSM and 1.6.1. EE, everything is latest build. First I tried Paul’s TinyMCE extension. It’s OK. But unfortunately I can’t see it in the latest Firefox and Safari browsers at all! In Explorer and Opera I see and can use it, but there is no wrap text for some reason. So, I decided to try LG TinyMCE Custom Field Module. I can see it in every browser, but it doesn’t work at all anywhere! Just some kind of mystic stuff! Well, I came back to Paul’s TinyMCE extension and now trying to understand why I cannot see it in my Firefox? Looks like it’s a good time for RTFM again! 😛

Well… I downloaded the Pauls TinyMCE extension from]http://expressionengine.com/downloads/details/tinymce/]from here[/url], and latest (stable version 2) version of TinyMCE from TinyMCE’s site. Installed it without problem, but it is not shown in latest Firefox browser. I tried already everything imaginable, but so far no luck! Did anyone make this extension working in Firefox? 😛

Sure… http://alex.ourera.org

Actually, now that I’ve asked, I’m wondering why I did. The extension (Paul’s at least) only works in the CP, so seeing the front end doesn’t help. That said though, I don’t see the tinymce files at http://alex.ourera.org/tinymce. Where are they?

I’m using MSM. The problem is not in TinyMCE itself or in Paul’s TinyMCE extension. This bundle is perfectly working if I’m using Opera or MS Explorer browsers. But it’s absolutely not shown in Firefox or Safary. Of course people can live without it, but for me it’s critical, because Firefox is my main browser.

Ah ok Alex. Then in that case, the final advice I can think of is to try clearing the caches and trying again. You might also find a post to the extension forum helpful. Good luck!

Tried clearing the caches and it didn’t work. As for plugin forum… Hmmm… I believe it is not plugin, but extension… Oh well… thank you, Derek anyway! Looks like I’m the only person here who uses this particular extension with this particular browser. Will try to ask in TinyMCE forum. Thanks again for your time.

Try downloading the latest release of my extension from here: http://leevigraham.com/cms-customisation/expressionengine/addon/lg-tinymce/
Then on a clean install of expression engine following the installation instructions.
I think the issue could be conflicting plugins. By installing one at a time you will be able to find out which one is causing you grief.

Thanks Leevi- clean installs of everything and reduction testing is about the only way to go to untangle this one.
