Wow I was out of the office there for a week are so.

Well I was completely wrong on the outcome. How could we know that England would pull it out of the bag. They have played 2 excellent games.

I felt bad for France though. Yes, a felt a bit of pity.

And the All Blacks still in mourning. Well I heard that soccer is becoming very popular amongst schoolkids in NZ. Maybe a good fallback when things go wrong.

Except in Ireland where we thought we might have a fallback with our soccer team. They are miserable. State of Irish sport is terrible at the mo.

I think England will do it.

Well done South Africa - thoroughly deserved and a great team.
I think the score would have been a little closer if it hadn’t have been for a few dodgey reffing decisions - like the non existent crossing that cost England three points.  And the disallowed try - well that would have made it a very interesting last 20 mins.

Thanks god it’s over. I can get some rest now - back to EE coding. (Except Hamilton is racing today…)

I just returned to work after being on vacation for two weeks in Europe (yes, it was wonderful), and I experienced by first rugby game on TV there, South Africa vs. ... somebody in the semifinals. The tournament was all over the TV news there, and I found myself in the hotel room one night switching channels and came across the game, which had just started. Can’t say I understood it (don’t know any of the rules), but it was fun to watch.

Don’t talk to me about refs.
The one that put us (nz) out of the cup still had his trainer wheels on..
Clearly hadn’t covered forward passes on the course yet.

Anyway the French were fabulous hosts and it was a great contest.
Glad you liked what you saw on TV Parisjc.
As Simon will verify it is generally agreed to be the game played in heaven.

Hope you can all make it down here next time in 2011.

Yeah it was a good final alright. I found the sight of the small boy crying as he was being led out to present the cup particularly funny. No I’m not cruel, but added entertainment.

Emotional end and it was a pity that try was disallowed. A millimeter in the difference. Fair play to SA.

Yes Simon, it’s back to work. Will Hamilton get it I wonder? Not a great way to do it on a technicality though. He has plenty of years to do it properly.

Funny you should mention that - my mates have already started planning! I was in NZ 3 years ago - fantastic people and country - loved it.

Quite - I don’t think anyone would want to win the championship through a technicality - actually that goes for any sport.

Loved the kid crying! We were wetting ourselves. He will be famous! Like me when I was a toddler - apparently blew raspberries right through my mums best friends wedding - I don’t remember it but everyone remembers me. (Well, the bride was French! Bless.)
