Don’t get me wrong - my favorite is OSX - but in comparison to XP - I’m a little partial to Vista - because once it’s setup (granted that was a pain) it was actually more productive for me than XP - largely due to the alt-tab combo - once Windows found out that Mac kicked on that they went ahead and got on board… honestly I don’t really have that much issue with Vista as long as you’re not trying to get to crazy with stuff - and if you’re a spartan developer only using the needed items then it won’t give you too much pain….

    Mac’s may be overpriced

Hi people! Well, don’t want no flames, just plain conversation.
I don’t think the Mac Mini I work with in my office costs more than a comparable PC, but
    let’s say Macs are overpriced.
So what? I spend more day time in front of my computer than with my wife or children.
The quality of the computer I work with has much to do with my quality of life.
If I were a cab driver, I wouldn’t mind spending some K$ for a better and more comfortable car, would you?

And so, if I had to spend 2/300 $ or € for a tool that make me feel more comfortable in my everyday job (and life) would I be clever to save a few bucks and go for a lower choice?

    Bye,
    Andrea

Well, overpriced would generally mean you were paying more than you should be for something, not paying more for a comparatively better product.

u can get a mac mini for about $500 . Not bad IMO . I do think mac needs open things up so dell can make some cheap macs too. You can get dell w/ ubuntu + monitor for about $600.
