Ok, so the ordering of the choices is a bit biased… but can you really blame me?  😜

What about those of us who use multiple OSes?

Not biased. They’re just in alphabetical order. 😊

Good point, since I do use all 3 in my web development.

    1) development using Mac OS (my primary OS).
    2) hosting on Linux.
    3) getting frustrated solving IE-related layout problem on Windows.
    4) back to Mac OS to relax.

Hmmm…. that sounds more than a little familiar. Canadian Hive Mind I guess. :D

Hmmm… good point.  I guess the question should be which OS do you use primarily?

Where are all these windows users? Show yourselves, I DEMAND IT!

I have stolen my girlfriends macbook for some development work while im stuck on holiday (no rest for the wicked) and I have fallen in love with it. For general browsing, development, gaming, everything. It seems to me to be a polished version of linux, they are VERY similar in many ways but mac is just… better!

Im not a fanboy i swear, 2 weeks ago id have said “pha! MACz” like the rest of ya. Use one!

Anyhow I agree with linux for the hosting, definatly the best solution there. CentOS, my good friend!

Windows user myself, although Linux all the way for hosting - unless it’s an app for DoD, then it’s Windows/ISS :-(

Mac OSX primarly, with Windows and Linux through Parallels. Probably switching to VMWare Fusion, so I can game a bit :p

When you get your own Mac, be sure to check out Panic’s Coda editor. It combines SubEthaEdit, which is a collaborative editor (over the Internet), Transmit, which is their killer FTP app, a terminal, reference books, a CSS editor… all into one sleek app.

It definitely adds polish to the shine. I haven’t been this impressed by an application for a long time. It is wow!

I use windows at work, Mac OS at home, along with a bit of parallels desktop to debug IE. Must say I prefer Mac OS, unusually.

Windows XP on laptop/server/HTPC, Windows Vista on desktop. Might put Linux on a virtual machine on my server but I have no burning desire to use Linux as main boot on any of my machines because in each case it will make something a pain in the ass.

    PS. I hate MACs 😛
