Just wanted to add in my playlist favorites.
Lately I’ve been on a huge Tool kick.
And in the rotation alongside them is Sleepthief, Magna Canta, Achillea, Enigma, Delirium, Conjure One, and the Les Miserable’s soundtrack.

http://www.kexp.org streaming is a great kick off for the morning. DJ john in the morning plays some great stuff. Not much my flavor after 10am.

Jazz, usually. Everything from Miles Davis, Red Garland, Bill Evans, Monk, Coltrane, Fitzgerald… and newer stuff, too. Or Brazilian jazz. Sometimes I’ll do something downtempo like Portishead or Thievery Corporation.
I can listen to more dancey or upbeat stuff when I’m doing creative work, but when coding I need something less intrusive.

Well I’m late to the party.
Well, MarcusNeto, I think you may like Pinback and French Teen Idol. They really get me through the day.
There is nothing like iTunes on shuffle.
I a newbie, according to my status.. I just signed up on this forum today 😊
but for today, it’s nothing but Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Cheers!
I remember buying a Stevie Ray Vaugh guitar book to practice electric too. Bloody hard!

pinback and french teen idol eh? <marcus leaves to load up itunes…. >
I want to also say thank you to everyone for keeping this thread alive. I have gotten some great new music from you all. Everything from Brazillian Jazz (brazillians do it best!) to hardcore. The tastes here are varied. Kinda cool to see. Funny thing is I listen to it all. Depends on where I am mood wise.

Well if you’d like something heavier and out there, then Comets on Fire are a good bet. That’s normally my driving music though. Need to be in an angry mood to drive in Ireland.
Exactly, I say most designers have their share of mood swings throughout the day!
But do you find that when you are in a bad mood over some project that is going down the drain or anything else for that matter, downbeat music works. It seems to focus you and make you feel a bit better, even though wisdom dictates that you should be listening to something poppy?
Well that’s me anyway. 😉

I love Tool (and A Perfect Circle)... Delirium and Conjure One, too.
Especially the Conjure One stuff with Poe (or, during the legal battles, Jane) singing.

Luckily for me I listen to John in the moring at about 4 in the afternoon. Kevin Cole’s is another DJs show to look out for on kexp.org.
