I work on a Mac laptop. Thanks to Expression Engine, I’ve become very busy and my trackpad hand hurts!

I need to get a mouse, was wondering what folks think of Mac’s mighty mouse.  I’ve always thought that mice were the one thing that Apple never got right.

    Anyone love their mouse?

When I pulled out my Powerbook for work a few people suggested a Logitech MX Revolution. I love this thing so much that I might get one for my gaming PC too.  Amazing mouse.

I come from a PC background, and when I went Mac I bought the mighty mouse (wireless). I hate the right click, and sometimes even the left. The two buttons on its ‘belly’ are very difficult to get used to. Scroll is nice.

I nearly bought the Logitech, I wish I had now.

I too have the Logitech MX: full-size for my desktop, and the laptop version for my Macbook.  Not a single complaint.  I used a Mighty Mouse for a very small period of time, so I’m sure one could adjust to it, but my hand does not like to raise my index finger off of the mouse for a right click, which is required.

I’ve got a Logitech V270 Bluetooth Mouse. It’s fantabulous. And I just take it with me wherever I go.

Thanks for all the great answers.

Any opinion about bluetooth vs usb?  The bluetooth mice seem to be cheaper.

Derek, I’m wondering what’s the difference between the Logitech MX full-size and the laptop version.  If you could only have one, which would you choose?

Well, the primary difference is the size of the mouse itself.  The smaller one is still comfortable, though the larger more-so.  The full size one also has a thumb wheel on the side, whereas the laptop has a zoom slider.  Also the full size mouse has a built-in li-on rechargeable battery; the smaller one takes a standard AA.  I’d probably take the larger, but if I always worked from a portable, and in many locations, I’d rethink that and at least consider the other.

Edit: Oh, I don’t care much for the bluetooth, as it’s a drain on the laptop’s battery that I can do without.

I like the tiny little wireless dongle on the Revolution.  I use the full-sized, too, but have no problem taking it with me, doesn’t take up *that* much space in a backpack, honestly.  If you’re going to be gone a lot and need to be able to pop in batteries, the smaller one may have advantages.  I just bring the charger, but it lasts a good long time without charging.

Wireless Mighty Mouse here…seemed weird at first but have gotten used to it. Use the diagonal scroll all the time 😊

I’m a big Logitech user as well - I’ve even picked up a second hand MX1000 LASER mouse as it’s been discontinued and I just can’t live without having all those buttons mapped to commands and expose.

I also got a new MBP last week and have been looking at my options for a mouse.

Personally I’m going to be waiting for this - The VX Nano - http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/23/logitechs-vx-nano-the-vx-revolutions-little-brother/

Designed for laptops, uses AAA batteries and the shrunken wireless dongle is a massive improvement over the last dongle. Should be out at the end of the month.

I use a Macally Ice Mini with my MBP. I’ve always been a fan of Macally mice - for some reason I really like the “clicky-ness” of the buttons. I tried the mighty mouse, but it just didn’t work for me. I thought the scroll ball was great, but apparently, I hold my mouse at a weird angle, so almost every click registered as a right-click, which made it basically useless for me.

I have a wired and wireless mighty mice. I love them, but the scroll wheel dirties quicker than I’d like. I actually bought the wireless one because I couldn’t keep the wired one clean enough to work properly.

I think I’d not buy one again, but they look so good…

Oh, duh.  Those are the two that I have, not MX.  Heh.

I used the Mighty Mouse for a few days. I just couldn’t get used to it. So I bought a Logitech S 530 Mac Keyboard and Mouse Combo.

I put the Mighty Mouse on my 3 year old’s Mac Mini. It’s more than adequate to play Dora the Explorer. 😊
