OK- at this point I’m ignoring the Safari issues- just focusing on the MSM being up and displaying properly. I THINK everything looks fine in the backend. I can flip between the 3 sites and if I add an entry to one site, it is not added to the other sites. You can spot those entries by going to ‘edit’- there’s a different ‘rob1 entry’ in two of the sites. So no unexpected duplication there.
It sort of takes one install to really get the hang of the MSM. When you first create your new sites, you’ll likely duplicate a lot of things- including entries- from an existing site. Or- move them over entirely. So they can look pretty much like mirrors. But once you start editing the sites, you’ll see they operate pretty much independently. If you create an entry in one site, it won’t show up on the edit page of the other sites. It’s unique to the site you created it on. Ditto weblogs, categories, etc. So once you start editing away on one of the new sites, you’ll start to see they are (mostly) independent.
Except- right now, your subdomains are all showing the same stuff on the frontend. I suspect it may just be a matter of needing to edit the path.php files in the subsites- see the docs on setting it up. I’m thinking maybe you don’t have the site shortname in there:
$site_name = 'Site_Short_Name';
That needs to be there and specify the short name of the site that the folder is displaying. Hopefully that’s the reason the frontends all look identical. If you duplicated most of the info, most of it will look the same for now- but they should be showing different entries on that main page, because the different sites now have different entries added to them.
That all make sense?
