    Hi there,
    Hope you can help.
Have had a site up and running for some time (one of a few on multi-site manager) and something odd has happened.
A member group has lost it’s posting privileges. I went back in and tried to reset them to ‘YES’ but then always switch back to ‘NO’ on submit.

Only things that have changed recently is that I have created a new site, not duplicating anything from the site with the issue.
Have tried creating a new Member Group and the same is happening, also tried creating a new Member Group based on Super Admin and the same thing is still happening.

Currently only the Super Admin account can post to this site.

The issue is only experienced on the one site.

    Thanks,
    Edd

For info, I’m getting a similar issue in EE 2.5.3 here: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/224292/

My settings are sticking, but they all change back to No once I save the member group settings for another group. Which means I can’t have more than one member group with channel posting privileges.

Just mentioning this in case it’s related. If not, please ignore me. 😊

    Cheers sm9.
    Sounds like the same issue.
    Anyone managed to overcome this?

Hi Edd, given that we’re both having the issue, I’m pretty sure this is just a bug rather than user error so I went and filed a bug report: https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/18234

Can you both verify for me that you are on ExpressionEngine 2.5.3 and MSM 2.1.4?

If you updated ExpressionEngine recently, MSM needs to be updated as well.

Let me know if that’s not the case.

    Cheers,

Just to confirm that my channel posting privilege issue was resolved with the solution provided in this bug report: https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/18234

Not sure if this is going to help you too Edd (as I note you also have MSM issues), so I’ll jump back out this thread now and leave you to it.

    Hi there,
I need to upgrade to 2.5.3 and MSM 2.1.4. So will do this and also take in the bug report (cheers sm9)... will get back to you (Dan) if I still have the issue after all updated.

    Dan,
So this has fixed this issue but presented another.
I am running 10 sites with MSM off one EE install.
What I am finding is that there is one site that all non- Super Admins must have CP access to in order for them to log into the CP, even if I do not want them to have CP access to that particular site…

    Hope that makes sense.

    Cheers,
    Edd

    Hey EWDC,

Hmmm, fix one thing and another comes up!

Can you show me the config (index.php) file for the site in question and show me one from a site that is working?

Did you duplicate the entire site when creating the site in question?

    Please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Hi Shane,
On more investigation I have realised that what is now happening is that when I create a new member group, it only does so on for the site which I have currently selected, if I then try to chance the access settings for that group I get a load of PHP warnings…

    A PHP Error was encountered
    Severity: Notice
    Message: Undefined offset: 0
    Filename: cp/members.php
    Line Number: 1641

So currently can’t create new member groups…

    Can you help?
