I’m seeing this error in an upgrade to 2.5.2.
I’ve installed the fieldtype and the module. Error reporting is set to 1, and I can’t find this $config[‘remove_unparsed_vars’] = ‘y’; setting in the config file.
The field is displaying in the edit entry page, but not the button bar.

Hi Marketing Alliance, Inc.
This:
$config[‘remove_unparsed_vars’] = ‘y’;Is a “Hidden Configuration Variable”. They are not in the file by default, you add them if you need them. So, for it to be effective, you simple paste that into /system/expressionengine/config/config.php, save, and refresh your Control Panel.
The field is displaying in the edit entry page, but not the button bar.
I’m not sure I follow here. What button bar are you referring too?
Cheers,

I’ve added the line to the config file, and I just added a new Rich Text text area with no change.
It loads the field fine in the edit entry page, but no bold/italic/image/link/etc buttons display within the field.

Marketing Alliance, Inc.,
Have you made any changes to the default toolset or have you added any new toolsets for your user?
We would like to get a look at this. Be watching out for an email from EllisLab.
Cheers!

No, everything is default.
This was an upgrade from 1.6.8 if that matters.

Hi Marketing Alliance, Inc.
The site had extensions disabled globally in /system/expressionengine/config/config.php
The RTE requires the Rich Text Editor extension in order to be fully functional. Once I set the config to allow extensions, the RTE sprang to life!
Let me know if that’s not your expectation.
Cheers!
