I upgraded from EE 2.4 to 2.5, enabled the Rich Text Editor, and set up a custom field to use it, but the add/edit form only shows a standard textarea. I tred changing an existing field and setting up a completely new field, and it doesn’t work in either case.

I have Wygwam installed; is there a conflict? Are there any dependencies?

    v2.5.0 - Build Date: 20120507

Update: my site’s on Apache with PHP 5.3.5.

I am also not seeing the RTE when editing entries in the Control Panel after upgrading from 2.4 to 2.5.  I have enabled the add-on and also changed the fields type.  I am still just seeing a plain text field though.

I am using a windows machine so I am wondering is there is a path issue somewhere with RTE.

I am not using WYGWAM on my setup.  I even tried with no third party modules installed.  Still not showing.

I have been testing this a lot and cannot get RTE to show when hosted on a Windows IIS server.  I am just seeing the plain textarea even though the fieldtype is setup to RTE.  Any helpis appreciated.

    Thanks guys,

I think we have two sepaate issues Shane.  Looks like mine is a Windows syntax issue in the code somewhere.  Should we open a new post?

    Hey kirkaracha,

Believe it or not, Apache can run on windows. 😊

I just want to make sure that you are on Linux and not Windows.

    Thank you,
