I am having this same issue and I am unable to resolve based on the above thread.
    Using v2.3.1 - Build: date 20111017

Last week the CP was working fine. Suddenly this week none of the main nav links (content, design, members, add-ons, admin, tools) work, nor any javascript-dependent elements. I can’t think of anything that could have changed to cause it.

I have verified the path settings and that javascript is enabled in my browser.
I have cleared my browser cache and the EE cache folder.
I have re-uploaded the entire Themes directory from the EE 2.3.1 install package after first deleting those files on the server.

Can someone please help me ASAP?

    Thanks,
    -m

    hello maodiddy,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this issue.

The links that are not working, can you show me where they are supposed to go (url) and where they actually go?

If you did nothing to change anything, I would check your hosting provider or via ftp to see if your paths changed for your home directory. It should not have, but you never know.

Let me know what you find and we will go from there.

    Cheers,

I’m having the same problem. However, I’m not even getting the submenus dropping down in the main menu. Curiously, it’s only happening if I log in under my clients profile (they are also a super admin). It seems to be fine for my own profile.

Scratch that, it’s now seems to be working.  Not sure what’s causing it…

I’m having the exact same problem. I’ve been working all day on this site and then suddenly the main EE and template navigation stopped working.

I checked the path and that seems to be alright:
    /www/webvol14/8w/40xekipa2grrbok/made-in-asia.se/public_html
    (&D=cp&C=tools_utilities&M=php_info)

    /www/webvol14/8w/40xekipa2grrbok/made-in-asia.se/public_html/themes/
    (my general configuration setting)

Did anyone figure out this problem?

What would be the path to my templates so I could keep on working at least?

    Thanks!

This is still not working for me, I also checked with my hosting provider if they changed things around, but nothing.
    Any ideas?

Another strange thing that just happened was that when I clicked on Template Manager in the navigation I got my homepage, with this url: http://made-in-asia.se/index.php?S=f723a64de5a47a58c1845a88cb4c6eb7c4f3bf7f&D=cp&C=design&M=manager

Before clicking there, in the cp, my url was this: http://made-in-asia.se/admin.php?S=22f2a9a6d88ae7fb71dea8476ebefded28773a48&D=cp&C=homepage#

This is probably useless information but what do I know? 😊

    Please help!

Below are the javascript error I get when I click either Template Manager or the home icon. However these links are working fine. When I click the rest of the (drop down) buttons I get nothing. I’m able to get around using copying and pasting links (from my other EE site) but can’t access the templates at all.

Before this happened I was creating a file called jquery.ui.custom.js under Themes/javascript/compressed/jQuery/ui but I did not change any of the other files so I dont see that it could have caused this problem.

    quick update:

suddenly all styles in cp disappeared for a minute but now they’re back, problem is still there.

This might have had something to do that I cleared the cache in the cp just before?

This is still a problem. I’ll try it on my local machine now and see how that goes.

Any advice would be very welcome regarding this problem

    Hello LuaMoi,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

Can you tell me what version of ExpressionEngine you are running?

Did you run the Server Wizard yet? I am curious as to the version of PHP and MySQL.

What do you have for your paths (obfuscating sensitive info) in the Control Panel under Admin->General Configurations?

Please let me know and we can go from there.

    Cheers,
