Many “forks” of basecamp arrived in last 2 years, but to be honest none of them attracted me as the progenitor. But goplan was the best online PMS. But if I have a choice I go with stand alone apps with source code allowing to move them between hosting accounts, and for small projects (freelancers should be satisfied) I suggest trying out collabtive.

I surely have to try out pancake, posted somewhere in this thread, but almost 200 bucks is quite expensive for a freelancer.

edit: did anyone try Redmine more than only messing with demo ?

Hi, I think 5pmweb it is one of the better solutions I’ve seen (and used). It’s a pretty tightly integrated suite of products. I am really comfortable with its online collaboration tools. Its multi language support allows me to work with international clients without a hassle.

Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. Without setting measurable goals and keeping track of various efforts and resources, projects don’t stand a chance of seeing a successful completion.

Apart from that, you also can ref more resources at:  project management
