Hi Thomas,
You can of course contact Werner directly but you should be able to add these lines yourself if they do not already exist in the pack. If you FTP into your site and navigate to system/expressionengine/language/german there should be a mailinglist_lang.php file and the key to change or add is ‘ml_mailinglist_confirmation’. If that file does not exist then just copy the equivalent file from the language/english directory into language/german and make whatever changes to the language strings you need.
Cheers

Greg,
i have opened the german language file /language/deutsch/mailinglist_lang.php and looked into it. the issue persists for me.
'ml_mailinglist_confirmation' =>
'E-Mail Bestätigung',could you, please, install the german language pack and see if the confirmations come along in german language for you — or if something else comes into play…
what do you say?

Hi Thomas,
I’m going to discuss this with the rest of the team and I’ll update this thread as soon as I can. Thank you in advance for your patience.
Cheers

i stand by, greg. have you replicated the issue so far?
#25 / May 09, 2011 11:28am
Hi Thomas—
I replicated your form and installed the German language pack, and I think I know what’s happening here. In EE, the site has it’s own default language (which I believe is now set to German in your installation), but each user can also have his or her own language preference. In the test I ran, the site’s default was German but my account’s setting was English. When I submitted the form while signed in to my account, I got English confirmations. After I logged out and submitted the form again, my confirmation was in German.
Does the German language pack still fail to work properly when you try the mailing list signup form while logged out?

Thomas,
There’s a part of the CP called Email Notification Templates that you want to take a look at for this. In EE2, go to Design > Message Pages > Email Notifications. When you get there, find one called “Mailing List Activation Instructions,” and click on it. Below the text box you’ll see a check box that says “Enable This Template?” For this template, and any others you want to have EE dynamically translate, just make sure that box isn’t checked.
Try that out and let me know!
Kevin

Nice one Kevin, I had forgotten about that setting.
Where do you stand at the moment BlinkUX. Do you still require assistance?
