    I’m pretty new to EE2 and this is the first site I’ve build on your CMS, which I might add has been the least stressful CMS I’ve worked with. But I am having an issue with the mailing list module I’ve set up a mailing list form in EE2 on my website, but when trying to test it I get the following message:

    ————————————————————————
    The form you submitted contained the following errors

    - You must submit an email address
    - Invalid email address

    ————————————————————————

    Am I missing something? Do I need to set up email on the server before I can use this?

    BlinkUX,

    Welcome to the forums and glad to hear you are enjoying EE 😊

    Can you paste the template code you are using for your form?

    Make sure the Mailing List module is installed and you have the correct short name for the list in your form
    Is your Email module also installed?

    Is this the latest version of EE?

    Are you removing the index.php via a htaccess file?

    {exp:mailinglist:form list="uxinsights"}
      <input type="text" class="text" placeholder="Your Email" size="30">
      <button class="sign-up" type="submit" >UX Insights Sign Up <span>»</span></button>
    {/exp:mailinglist:form}

    Both mailing list and email modules are installed.

    It is the latest version of EE and I am removing the index.php from the url.

    I don’t know if it is an issue, but try renaming your .htaccess file and put back in the index.php setting.

    In a stand alone template with just this code, do you still get the same error when using my email address?

    I am having this issue also.

    {exp:mailinglist:form list="eaballo"}
    <div id="search" class="alert search-form"><label>Ich will dabei sein</label>
    <input class="search-text tip" type="text" placeholder="Ihre E-Mail" name="keywords" title="Ihre E-Mail bleibt vertraulich, garantiert.">
    </div>
    {/exp:mailinglist:form}

    Throwing the mentioned errors. It’s bad. On latest build here. Please hotfix!

    I have tried that with no positive result.

    I don’t know if it is an issue, but try renaming your .htaccess file and put back in the index.php setting.

    This has no positive effect in resolving the issue either.

    Hi BlinkUX and Thomas,

    The input element of the mailing list form needs to have a ‘name=“email”’ attribute as per the documentation. Can you please update your code appropriately and test this again.

    Cheers

    Greg

    Hi Thomas,

    Can you give me a little bit more information about what is not translated? Which messages in particular are still in English?

    Cheers

    1. Email Confirmation
    2. Someone has subscribed to your mailing list
    3. I imagine there are more non-translations in the pipeline…

    Hi Thomas,

    Please confirm that you have downloaded and installed a language pack. Which version and build of EE are you using?

    Cheers

    Greg
