I’m confused.

It normally only costs $50 to upgrade a freelancer license to non-commercial. This post says it’ll cost $89.97.

How is that saving money?

I did get the Fusion Ads Bundle, really only for the EE license to take advantage of the discount (I did end up trying and liking Billings as well).

It’s just annoying to hear that the upgrade is going to cost more than usual. It’s like the Fusion Ads bundle didn’t really come with a typical Freelancer License as I was lead to believe.

I do still appreciate the discount, but I think it was misleading and would’ve liked to know about the difference in upgrade price ahead of time.

Curtis, it doesn’t. We put the discount on the upgrade price. If you go to the store to upgrade, you’ll see this:

  Commercial license for $120.00 (an $80 savings over a standard upgrade!)
ExpressionEngine Non-Commercial License for $30.00 (a $20 savings over a standard upgrade!)

We fixed the previous error.

Well, I’m still disappointed about that, because when buying the FUSION ADS BUNDLE I wanted to get a second freelancer license and NOT an upgrade option for my existing license.

Don’t get me wrong, the discounts are all great, but of no worth to me. You should have made that clear from the beginning.

I don’t remember if it was on the Fusion Ads site, the ExpressionEngine site, or both; but I did read somewhere that you wouldn’t be able to have two Freelancer Licenses. Also, according to the purchase page you can only have one Freelancer License per member account.

OK, I thought I would be able to have a friend of mine use this license on a separate account - it was intended as a gift. But the bundle was a great deal anyway, so no problem at all! 😉

Actually, you can still do that. You just need to have that person sign in with an EE username and then let them redeem the coupon code in the store using the process. You’ll just give them the coupon code and let them sign in with a username. Just be sure you don’t have the code under YOUR account since you already have a freelancer license.

Also, just to clarify, the upgrade option is not for your existing license. Its for the license you receive as part of the FusionAds bundle. If you upgrade, you will have a brand new non-commercial or commercial license at a seriously reduced discount plus you’ll still have your original Freelancer license. Really, its a stellar deal.

Still, if you really just wanted two Freelancer licenses and that’s the only reason you purchased the bundle, I can see how you would be let down. Again, please check your email. Thanks.

I’ve just upgraded to the commercial license, EE was also the main reason I got the bundle, and this upgrade offer was something I couldn’t miss.

So it’s not possible to apply the bundle coupon to my current license so that I can upgrade my freelance license to a commercial one?

Meaning:

I have a freelance license that I bought before I purchased the Fusion Ads Bundle. I was hoping that I can apply the bundle coupon to my freelance license so that I can upgrade it to a commercial license.

I do not need two licenses. (at least for now). Would this be possible?

I emailed support with my intentions a few weeks ago and they forwarded me to the blog post. Now it looks like I may be stuck with two licenses (either two freelances or a freelance and commercial, instead of being able to upgrade my one license to one commercial) that I currently do not need.

EDIT: I currently have a Non-Commercial License. I mistakenly said “Freelance” above. So my goal is to update my current Non-Commercial to Commercial which looks like the Fusion Bundle would only save me $29.99 compared to the value of a Freelance license.

You can only upgrade the Fusion Ads bundle Freelancer License at the discounted price. I believe you can upgrade your Non-Commercial License just not at a discounted price.
