    Hi, FL -

    That would be a third-party add-on whose files you may have not added back in after the update.  Do you have your backed up files? If so, look for that add-on in your files. In EE 1, it would be in the /system/plugin, /system/modules or system/extensions directory.

    followed the advice of the last post by Lisa Wess.  Still getting this error:

    Error

    Error

    The following tag has a syntax error:

    {exp:excerpt}

    Please correct the syntax in your template.

    As Lisa said, this error refers to a third-party add-on, probably a plugin, “excerpt”. EE can’t find it. If you haven’t installed it please remove all references to it from your template code.

    if thats in the template then it was obviously used and working before the upgrade attempt.  I inherited the site and have no way to contact previous developer, etc.  I’m simply trying to upgrade.  Haven’t removed or added anything to it.

    You guys have server access.  I can give you db access.  Why don’t you just perform the upgrade since the client paid for the upgrade.  Then you can see the problems firsthand.  The budget is about blown just trying to get this to work.

    Yes, no argument here.

    I looks like we’re talking about this plugin, perhaps. There is no known EE2 compatible version of it; you must remove the calling tag from your template.
