good to see a more flexible use of control panel themes - now we just need third party developers to stop assuming that we all use pink for our theme. I would love to use an alternative - but third party extensions often look poor in it to say the least.
What other updates are due in this release? Or do i have to wait for change log upon release! 😊

That is so sexy that it just starred in a summer blockbuster and made 120 million on its opening weekend.

A simple and excellent addition.

The Forecast page can give you an idea. “Pre-Release” items are most likely to hit in the next release. And of course, we don’t itemize *everything* in advance. For bugs, the Fixed for Next Release status in the bug tracker is a live indicator.

Just to be sure: this means we can write css on top of the cp theme for some (relatively) easy customisation? (read: kill the pink 😊 )

that is great - thanks for that - i should have guessed based on the pre-release terminology! been a long day!

Woo! I love you guys. Cascading templates will be super sweet.
Oh boy do I hope they make it into the front-end at some point too.

B-e-a-utiful work ladies and gentlemen. Looking forward to it.

Fantastic.
What are the chances of having some core CSS classes added to each theme that utilize the related color pallets so that us third party developers have a hope of creating add-ons that are more consistent across all themes? For example:
a.theme_link {color:pink;}
a.theme_button {background:pink; border:darker pink; color:#333;}#12 / Nov 29, 2010 6:05pm
Not what I would have in mind for a Leaner & Meaner ExpressionEngine, but a cool change nonetheless.

Oh, for a moment I thought a Leaner & Meaner ExpressionEngine actually meant a good working File Browser and File Manager.

Woohoo! Clients are going to love having the cp in their colors. Personally though, I’d prefer better mechanics before better aesthetics, but hey-ho, maybe it didn’t take long.

Personally I’m glad to see a release that is a combination of developer, designer and add-on fixes/improvements. If a release was all back-end stuff for just one audience, I’d think that would feel sucky to whoever did not get at least a few improvements. So yeah, was CP themes a gigantic concern for the hard-core code monkeys? Not really, but as a UI/designer guy I’m glad to see it. This looks like a nice rounded update, I just can’t wait for the SAEF improvements (i know that’s a bigger problem so I wait patiently)
