    I need help.  I’ve been trying to get the 3rd party developer to look into this issue, but as I explained in a post on another topic, he’s persona non grata since we’ve paid him.

    The issue is the developer programmed an area for us to enter events into the site (see http://aac.joinvacation.com/index.php/training_calendar/).  In the titles of the events, we’re unable to use the ampersand or single quote symbols.  I could use the html version, but I don’t know where to look to see this code.  I’m pretty sure I’ve looked thoroughly in Control Panel > Edit > Events.

    We’re using Wygwam wysiwig from Pixel&tonic;, just fyi.

    Can anyone help?

    p.s. now anything new we’re adding is not appearing on the calendar.

    Can’t you enter those symbols into the title field or any field?

    Wygwam shouldn’t have any troubles with & (& amp;) and ' (& apos;)

    It can be entered, but it renders on the site in code.  For instance, the single quote shows up as '  So Tauck’s shows up as Tauck's

    Check under Training Calendar for Sept 29, 2011.  See where I used & and ’ in the title and renders as code.

    Something still isn’t clear to me… is that value entered into the ‘title’ field or into a custom field?

    It’s when I enter into event title.

    Just now I noticed you were using moblog… I’ve never used it myself, so I’m afraid I won’t be of much help to you after all.

    Thanks for the assist, Wouter.

    vcom, I don’t see any entry for the 29th of September..

    The title field shouldn’t be an issue with Wygwam.

    See Sept 23, 2011.  Sorry, I should’ve been more clear.

    Are you using the “Convert High ASCII to Entities” feature? What other “accented” characters, like é or à or ö?

    I don’t think so.  I wouldn’t even know where to go to do that.

    Better question is, should we have this set to “yes”?

    vcom, let’s get a bit more information from you. Which build/version of EE2.x are you using? You can see that at the bottom of any control panel page. (In the actual footer, not the Info accessory.)

    The channel that these entries are tied to - what’s it called? Assuming it’s called events, can you create a brand new template with the following bit of code:

    {exp:channel:entries channel="events" limit="10" show_future_entries = "yes" disable="categories|member_data"}
    <h3>{title}<h3>
    {/exp:channel:entries}

    and provide us a link to that template?

    Build:  20100430.

    Not sure how to get you the channel info.

    vcom,

    Do you have any experience with EE to date or did your developer do everything for you?
    I am just gauging how to approach this for you to make troubleshooting as easy as possible.
    Would you be comfortable doing as Sue asked and creating a test template?

    Not sure how to get you the channel info.
