If it’s at all feasible I would recommend upgrading to Brandon Kelly’s matrix rather than trying to hack LG Data Matrix - Leevi is no longer supporting it. There are some instructions on pixelandtonic.com for migrating existing data from LG Data Matrix.

I don’t understand… so neither LG Data Matrix nor Brandon Kelly’s matrix are EE products? Didn’t LG Data Matrix come with EE when we bought it? Why should we have to pay to upgrade to third party software?

Neither LG Data Matrix nor Pixel and Tonic’s Matrix are first-party; they are both separate, third-party add-ons that do not ship with EE. Your developer may have included them, which may be part of the confusion.
