FWIW, I’m also able to get to the intended page - I click on the link titled “See Baja Multisport with Whales Dates” and I’m taken to http://www.journeymexico.com/index.php/Trip/baja_multisport_gray_whales_hiking_and_sea_kayaking

Just a quick observation wpbucker, in the source, I noticed that rather than quotes, you have the ASCII code for quotes:
a href="http://www.journeymexico.com/index.php/Trip/baja_multisport_gray_whales_hiking_and_sea_kayaking"Perhaps replacing the & quot; with ” would be a good place to start…

Thanks, helbnt! Does that help, wcbuckner? What browser are you using?
#20 / Jun 16, 2010 4:06pm
I don’t know why ASCII code is showing. I didn’t enter that way. I entered normal quotes. EE is reformatting it. I am using firefox.

Hi wcbuckner, to confirm, under Admin › Weblog Administration › Field Groups › Custom Fields, what do you have set for ‘Default Text Formatting for This Field’ on the field you’re putting that URL into?
Also, does the same issue occur if you put a URL into another field?
#22 / Jun 17, 2010 11:33am
Again, the Default Text Formatting for This Field is set to None. No, I’ve never had this issue yet. We have hyperlinks all over our site.

That’s what makes this so odd to me; if EE was reformatting the links, I’d think it’d be reformatting all the links, not just the random one here or there.
After you fixed the quote issue, were you able to get to the page without the 404 error?

I agree with helbnt. Can you show us the relevant part of your template, wcbuckner? Are yuo using realtive or absolute links?
#25 / Jun 17, 2010 3:28pm
Guys, I’m really not trying to be rude, but you keep asking me the same questions. I never fixed a quote issue because I never entered the the ASCII code for quotes. I entered normal quotation (”) marks; EE reformatted them.
I’ve attached screen shots of the entire Trip template. Please see previous post for screen shots of exactly what I entered into the weblog field.

had to make another post to attach the other screen shots

Hi Again,
There seems to be a lot of !=” with just one double quote. Shouldn’t there be two? For instance:
{if price_include !=""} as opposed to {if price_include !="}I don’t know if that’s a problem really (I’d describe my self as an advanced-beginner of EE 😉 ), or if that’s even a problem. Might be a place to start?

Tricky… looks to me like the only thing left is a possible formatting issue with LG Data Matrix. Take a look at this for a possible fix:

Most people are now using Brandon Kelly’s Matrix instead, which may solve the issue:

that thread seems a bit over my head. i guess we just can’t link from our dates field
