Mike, do the unwanted accounts actually post anything? And is anything entered into their member profile fields?

The reason I originally closed registration other than via admins manually entering it is due to spammer accounts who’d put links in their sigs (but rarely post). But as far as I can tell the current crop of accounts being generated (the one with @yahoo.com and very standardized usernames) don’t have anything in any of their fields (signature, website, etc). They haven’t had a chance to post because myself or another admin has deleted them within 12 hours of account creation.
Oddly, my forum is now working again.

Well the problem doesn’t really seem resolved but I guess it’s manageable as long as the forum problem doesn’t pop up again. Hopefully closing all user registration on all three sites eliminates the problem.
