Calling all Angelenos and Southern California pEEple!

Let’s mEEt at Philippes, The Original French Dip Sandwich shop for lunch on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 12:30 pm for lunch. (I put the ending time at 2:30, but only because the form asked me to.)

We’ll meet upstairs (where my friend tells me it’s quiet), assuming that no other large group gets dibs on the upstairs room. Backup plan: meet in back room where the train museum is (near the restrooms).

Philippe’s is in downtown L.A., in walking distance of Union Station

Be Green and work while commuting (got EE and MAMP/WAMP and laptop?) on the way TO and FROM if you take rail transport to Union Station.

Metro Light Rail: Metro Gold Line, Purple Line or Red Lines go to Union Station.

Thanks. I’ll be there. Then go to MOCA afterwards, maybe. By the way, if anyone else is in Santa Monica, it is very easy to get to Union Station on the Santa Monica #10 bus to downtown L.A.

I’m in. Let’s start a wish list for topics to address for this mEEtup or for future gatherings.

Topics I had in mind:

Intro: Who and Where I am. How I’m using EE.
My strong suits (front end? custom php coding? Server this? Look and Feel that?)
My current challenges.. what I’m trying to do, direction/areas I’d like to learn.
Opportunities to collaborate.
Biz Practices
Tips and Tricks and in-person demos I’d like to see or I’d like to give (the forum is splendid, but F2F and sharing screen time is better!)
Do we want to do this again? If so, how often?

p.s. I’ve been searching through the EE member database under ‘ca’ and finding people in SoCal. Will send out more notices later today after my 24-hour max private message limit has expired. For some reason, EE thinks I might be spamming. But I’m not!

I’m sorry that I could NOT make it.  The storms flooded the electrical system of the building in which I work, and we were out a day and a half.  I needed to come in on the weekend to make up the work that I was unable to do during the outage.

Sorry.  Maybe next time.
