    Happy New Years!

I’m writing this update from an undisclosed warm weather location where Rick Ellis, Derek Jones, and I are convening to plan out the next year. Yes, its our annual World Domination Summit. There is energy and excitement in the air (along with the promise of good Brazilian BBQ). We think 2010 is going to be special, but let’s start by reviewing what’s happened in the last 30 days.

I’m very eager to read about how EE and CI integrate for regular non-addon development.

i would also be keen to learn more about the CI and EE2.0 development… i am no EE extension superhero like BK, Solspace, LG, etc, etc, etc… but would certainly like to learn more from some tutorials, etc…

the dev team is putting the finishing touches on ExpressionEngine v2.0.1. This will be the first significant update to the Public Beta as it includes the implementation of the Custom Field API and its documentation for third party developers. This will open up a more focused conversion path for 3rd party developers that need their add-ons to integrate with the Publish/Edit pages.

There are also additional bug fixes along with a few highly requested UI tweaks.

    Hi,
Any idea when the 2.0.1 is available. There is fixes that one of my clients need and also me.

    Cheers
    - pete

I hate to say this, Pete, but you’ve been around long enough to know that we don’t give out dates as a rule… So, no, no ETA at this point, I am afraid.

I have to say I find the number versioning very odd. Having a product go from beta to x.1 and not x.0 seems out of the norm.

This seems to be the thread to talk about the official release of EE 2.0?

I’d like to know when EE 2.0 gets out of beta. We’ve now had four months to test it, so we actually should be capable to mention a date?

We are working hard to prepare for the 2.1 full release of ExpressionEngine; but there is no ETA for that.

News have been relatively quiet from the EE front. Can you guys share some new information regarding how the actual 2.0 product is doing since it’s last release?

Weren’t you guys “putting the finishing touches on” ExpressionEngine 2.0 when you showed it off at SXSW 2008?

Hi, therooster - the 2.0 release is doing great!  There are bugs that our development team is working hard on clearing out, and you can see that in our public bug tracker.

How great is that? When BETA might drop out? I know, there is no ETA what so ever…Actually there is no nothing but a fee to use Beta and beeing a freelance bug tracker for EL.

Lucky that summer is near, keep smiling!
