Hi, Timo. Can you post these doc errors to the EE2 Public Beta Bug tracker? We appreciate it!

Before we spend the necessary time to see if/how EE 2.0 PB works on a search-heavy content website (which will likely take a few days to migrate) were there any changes made to the simple or advanced search engine? I don’t see anything in the changelog.

    Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Hey Geof. Search works more or less the same as it did in 1.6.

Downloaded yesterday, Installed today, Problems? Zero. I love it!! Congratulations to you all.

P.S: I’ve just noticed that when I click on the Help button (top menu), is going to:

    http://expressionengine.com/docs/cp/design/templates/index.html

    404 Not Found

Apart from that, it’s beautiful and works beautifully…

    Cheers,

    Juan

Thanks for letting us know Juan, I’ve let the dev team know.

You can fix this in your installation by doing the following in your Control Panel:

    1. Go to Admin—> General Config.
    2. Update the Doc URL preference to: http://expressionengine.com/public_beta/docs/

That will update the system to point to the correct help links.

Is there going to be MSM wide search ever? I feel that it’s very important so it would be nice to know if EL has any idea if there is going to be such function,
    thanks

The Fruit CP theme is missing for me. Is there a place where I can download and install it? I much prefer it to the default theme.

To the EllisLab team, even though I was on the beta team, let me say again what a step up this is! I am continually surprised by the little touches that I find here and there. You all have managed to develop a “Mac OS X for Web publishing”. Congrats and thanks 😊

@FinPete: If you haven’t yet started a thread in feature requests forum, please do.

@Daniel: Thanks for the kind words! You can grab other themes by hitting up “My Downloads” and under the free downloads area you’ll see “ExpressionEngine 2.0 Beta Control Panel Themes”. Just drop the resulting folders into your the themes folder of your site.

Sue, I must say I’ve always wondered why don’t you guys do this yourself, instead of risking the fact that the user might not get around to it. Well, I believe you do it so that us users would get familiar with the Bug tracker. Once you’ve learned/used it, it’s more likely that you’ll use it in the future, too. I know that’s how I feel right now.

Sue, I must say I’ve always wondered why don’t you guys do this yourself ...

Quite often we do, especially if we were able to reproduce the error, but it’s usually a good idea to have the user do this, as he or she knows the exact circumstances, system setup, PHP version, installed addons, could do a screenshot if asked, etc. Believe me, it’s easier that way.

When you post a bug yourself, you’re often times more invested in the fix. Also the developer can contact you directly if they have more questions on the issue.

Silly Q maybe but what’s the difference between bug tracker and bug forum then?
