I noticed today a new EE-site called ee-heist.com. They’ve got a great deal on a bunch of interesting EE plugins/extensions/modules. Since the first rule of internet is “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is”, I’m looking for some people who have positive or negative experience with this site.

I’ve already got a not-so-positive response on twitter, so please share your stories on this last EE1-day.

I bought it as 3 of the add-ons are on my list for some of the sites I’m developing.  No issues with the purchase or the licenses.  Mike Boyink is participating which gives it a high degree of credibility.

Their website and other technical issues have not been perfect (site goes down, the early launch, the 1 cent bundles) so it is not without mistake. However certainly not a scam as you may think.  They are just borrowing the concept popularized by macheist.com.

Jack McDade is behind this. I have no reason to believe this is anything but legit.

Ok cool, Jack McDade’s site was offline earlier tonight and because somebody told me he was already waiting for hours for a code, made me cautious. Now where’s my credit card?

Bought the bundle on 24th Nov as it had two of the addons that I was looking to purchase.

As it stands I have only received a license code from one developer. Emails to both ee-heist and the developers in question have so far gone unanswered, there has been a serious break down in communication somewhere.

Patience starting to run a little thin.

I’ve not purchased, not enough add-ons that I need/like to make it worth it.

Probably me. I’m not sure the other devs are emailing individually as well. But you should receive the whole package through EE-heist. So I guess something got lost.
If I mailed you that means your purchase was registered. So if this isn’t already resolved, send me a PM with your email and I make sure you do get your bundle.

Indeed it was you Silenz, and it was codes for two of your products (Redline & Restricted Area). Your email came through within 2 hours of my original ee-heist purchase and I must say your response time was fantastic. Thank you.

That’s just how I personally make sure you have access to future updates. As I said, you ought to receive the whole package fromm ee-heist, if you haven’t send me a PM.

I’ve got the same problems as Flatulent Badger. The only email I received were from Silenz, I haven’t seen or heard anything from ee-heist.

Here’s the only email I got:

You receive this mail because you pulled a heist at ee-heist.com.

Download accounts have been created to give you access to future updates
in the 1.6.x line of these addons:

      Greetings

      Oliver

And that’s it. I’m not sure where things go wrong, but I checked and double-checked the spambox as well. I just send an email to ee-heist and hope I’ll receive an answer soon. Will post any updates here as well.

Well Ronny, in your case, you just bought it minutes ago.
The process is not fully automatic. There are actually people behind it. You will receive a reply from ee-heist, just give it some time.

Not all devs will contact you directly. That’s just how I handle things for my addons in my system. I just happend to be quicker than the main crew here.

Oh ok, I thought it was automated because you were so fast. I’ll be patient!

now that I look at it, no licenses except the ones already mentioned.  I assumed they would be in the zip file, but are not.

Good idea but so far very spotty execution.

ee-heist / Jack McDade has responded.

All is in hand, appologies for the delay, but things will start moving.
