I’m looking forward to the release today (regardless of what it is called).  This is a huge step for content management.  I know things can’t be perfect but I’m putting my support behind it (laughable dev skills but I will be purchasing the upgrade).  Thank you!

While I’m looking forward to getting my hands on 2.0 as much as anyone I must say making people pay for a beta version of software is just ... wrong.  Who made such a decision and why?  They need a good ol’ knock upside their noggin.

It’s obvious you don’t feel it’s ready for public consumption by renaming it from RC1 to PB, but you’re going to charge for it anyway?  Maybe I need to tap your audience and try to sale the shed in my backyard that’s still only half built. 😉

Either postpone the launch or, if you must go live with what you have, offer a *serious* discount to those that buy your beta and help you work out the bugs.  After all, they are doing work and/or taking a risk for you and that normally calls for compensation which could come in the form of a steep discount.

No one is forcing you to buy 2.0PB. 😊  Why not wait till 2.1 if you don’t want to pay for a PB release?

No one is saying you have to purchase it now, and 2.1 will be a free upgrade.  So either pay for it now and be willing to live with a few bugs, or wait for others to sort them out and pay for it later….

At the end of the day, you’re paying for 2.0, not 2.0PB.  It just so happens that by buying 2.0 now, you get the PB immediately and Gold (2.1) when it’s released - or you can wait and buy it when it’s Gold.  It will cost you the same either way, but buying now lets you get your mitts on it sooner to have a play. 😊

Dropping the core, essentially drops EE off of my “list” of my 1 or 2 systems I will strive to really stay on top of because it eliminates it as a potential solution for a significant percentage of my clients.

Non-profit clients are a great place to hone your chops if you don’t have commercial traction, but seriously, there isn’t much worth doing in the charitable sphere that isn’t worth $300 bucks.

Stick with 1.6.8 Core. Credible non-profits are comfortable in the Cheap Seats if they can get their missions done.

OS X was originally a public beta, and yes, you did have to pay for it.

    MAY WE ALL…

...be blessed with jobs that allow us to be a YEAR AND A HALF LATE on the initial proposed launch date for our projects, and then even hit snafus up to the final minute which cause even more delays past the official launch!  Man, I don’t think I could pull that one off with *any* of the jobs I’ve ever had! lol…

I’m kidding, I’m kidding.  😉 Just anxiously awaiting the download, that’s all.

EE 2.0 cannot bake bread. It does not cure aids nor the H1N1 flu. It has no role to play in bringing about World Peace nor in curing poverty and hunger.

So if it surfaces a week late. che sera, sera ...

I was wondering if it’s possible for the new documentation to get released.
I completely understand the delay but I thought it would be nice if we could start getting familiar with the new EE. 😊
