I hate it when Apple laughs at Microsoft for not innovating, when lots of the things Apple “innovates” has already been done by someone else… and Apple tries to steal all the credits from that company.

Right on! I just saw a press release on Windoze 7. They’re really make it sound like they came up with all thing on their own. They could have been a bit more humble and say. We’ve seen these features in other OS. Now we’re incorporating it in Windoze.

Well no, you see… calling it “Windoze” is just stupid. Microsoft didn’t invent everything, or innovate with everything, but Apple fanboys cry that Microsoft steals ideas from them when Microsoft had it first. The only thing Apple innovates in is the iPhone.

No but it’s fun to see how stupid dudes react to it. 😛

I just feel like coming out of the… computer room.

I’m a happy user of both Windows and openSUSE. Mostly I’m booting up Linux because its simply better. However windows is great if I’m playing pc-games, I don’t have to mess about with things in wine. For me in the over all list of - and + Windows isn’t even close.

Now let’s talk W7. I’ve heard dudes answering the question, whats good with W7. -It works! Says a lot about older versions… But very nice to see a functional windows in the horizon!

When ever I get hold of a free copy, yes folks OS should be free support is an other ballgame, I’ll get it straight away. I’m looking forward to it.

This site exactly voiced my thoughts:

    This Week in Weird Tech

    Microsoft’s whopping marketing assault

Something very odd is happening out there in the world at the moment. Millions of people with perfectly fine PCs that work perfectly fine and are perfectly fine, are spending lots of money on buying a new operating system that enables them to do the same things in slightly different ways. We will never understand “the masses”.

the screen corners and edges are the easiest targets to hit but designers never use them for clickable objects - users just wouldn’t accept that design

Really? So the Minimize, Maximize/Restore, and Close buttons are in the upper corners by coincidence? The Windows start button is in the bottom-left corner by coincidence. Dock is on the bottom edge by coincidence? File menu in top left corner. System Tray in bottom right corner. Fire up a brand new install of any modern desktop GUI and tell me where all the interface elements are.

    That’s why this is a programming forum…

And I just spotted this on a UI forum:

monospace typefaces are the easiest to read but programmers never use them for writing code - programmers just wouldn’t accept that typeface

    Isn’t Consolas (which I use a lot) a monospace font ? 😛

Unless you are a photoshop guru, GIMP does most of the work photoshop does. If you absolutely can’t live without photoshop, you can Wine it…

It’s not only about Photoshop. I am a regular user of Photoshop, and Flash. Of course I can switch to GIMP but what about Flash? Plus I use Camera Raw more than Photoshop to edit my photographs. So this plugin is only available in Adobe Bridge, Lightroom or Photoshop :-(

Everything else is fine and works in Linux for me. php, mysql, lots of code editors are there (which is nice). I like Linux 😊

And yeah I tried Wine as well. Some of my apps don’t work in it. So it’s not a good solution for me.
