Yeah I know what you mean about portability, monitor is already covered would not need one. I would settle for 13 but 15 would be happy medium.
Now the price tag…online seems much steeper..Alohashirt where did you pick up yours?

Vista has not entered my network and it never will if I can help it. Windows 7…agh by the time that thing is real and really working…

I’ve heard good things about that but under a different name. I think it was Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

It can be used as a direct upgrade to Vista .. and so, it got that name.

It also comes as a standalone OS which I installed onto a new drive in an old (read custom Pentium 4) PC which runs XP SP3 Pro otherwise.

For me, it benchmarked faster than XP and useability wise, faster and smoother than Vista on another machine I upgraded.

In terms of relevance to this thread .. it will be interesting to see how it translates for those who need Windows in a Mac; I don’t own an apple of any flavor so I can’t comment.

However, reading the comments of those who use XP in a Mac, I could suggest that the experience might be quite rewarding .. a “Mac-like” GUI with very fast windows under the hood.

    Then there is IE 8 ....  😠

Looking at the price tags they are still $2,500+ ...so any outlets that have better pricing?

MacMall has some discounts some times.  Right now, they have the 15” MBP starting at $1,800.  Sometimes they’re not the exact same specs as the one in the Apple store though, so make sure to look at that.

    Same thing for ClubMac.

Now that you had this setup running for a while….
Care to share the experience working on this setup on day to day basis?
    Thank you!
