After almost an elephants pregnancy the developer preview of EE 2.0 meets the light, too bad it’s a limited group who can discover the new code.
I hope a few parts gets shown to the CI paparazzi too even if it is through a long range lens.

I hope once it launches ... and after the bug reports, we get some new features in CI. Sorry if that sounds whiny, because if 1.7.1 was the final release of CI ever, I’d still be using it for quite some time to come!

It’s my understanding the CI 2.0 will be released side-by-side with ExpressionEngine 2.0, which includes all the architectural and feature changes that go with shifting the platforms closer to one another. The two are intended to supplement each other, and the mumbling from EllisLab people is that CI 2.0 will be a pretty big change.

I think some of the kiddos with ants in their pants are going to have an early look. It will be interesting to see the changes. I hope nothing is changed too drastically, but there are some areas that can definitely be improved upon.

Also, it’s kind of annoying that the requirements for signing up for the preview provide nothing for CI developers. Kind of comes off as snubbing us, even if that’s not their intention. I’ll accept that it was not. EE is their bread-and-butter.

named after that Marillion song? so when it’s officially released there’ll be a really, really, really long intro.
