Third-Party License Validation
Today, we’re thrilled to announce the addition of third-party license validation for ExpressionEngine add-ons. Adding third-party license validation is an important step in the growth of the larger ExpressionEngine community and a large step in the right direction toward allowing add-on developers to continue to provide the best offerings.
What does this mean?
This means that now when you explore and use add-ons in your control panel, you’ll receive clear notifications on whether a specific add-on requires a license. This proactive feature is designed to enhance your experience and ensure you’re fully aware of the licensing requirements associated with each add-on. From there, you will need to tie existing add-ons to a given site (see below), or when necessary purchase add-ons yet to be purchased and tie them to a given site.
What do you need to do?
Sign in to Your Account: Begin by logging into your ExpressionEngine account. This will ensure you have access to all your purchased add-ons and licenses in one convenient place.
Visit the Licenses Page: Once you’re logged in, navigate to the “Licenses” page within your account. Here, you’ll find a comprehensive list of all the add-ons you’ve acquired along with their corresponding licenses.
Attach Unlicensed Add-Ons: If you have previously purchased a license for an add-on, simply click on the option to “Attach License” next to that add-on. This step will associate the add-on license with the appropriate site and ensure you’re fully compliant.
Purchase a License (If Needed): In case you don’t already own a license for a specific add-on, fear not! You can easily purchase a license for that add-on from the add-on store. Our store provides a seamless purchasing experience, allowing you to quickly secure the necessary license.
By following these simple steps, you’ll ensure that your add-ons are properly licensed and ready to enhance your ExpressionEngine experience.
