Old image path cached (I think..)

Got a little problem with an EE site I just moved from one place to another. This is technically tech support but the commercial license was bought on a colleagues account so I can’t post in that forum!

    The Details

    ExpressionEngine: 1.6.3
    Build:  20080319

    The Scenario

We built an EE site on our preview server - preview.adomain.com. Upon completion I moved that site to the live environment (different server). To do this I backed up the database, moved everything over and it all seems to work fine.

    The Problem

Even though I have changed all the image upload paths/site paths and changed the config.php file to reflect the new environment for some reason everytime I upload a new image through the EE CP it puts the relative path to that image as the old path (e.g preview.adomain.com/images/uploads/image.jpg)!

    What I have Tried

    1) I have tried to delete the images at fault from the upload directory and upload them again - same error.

    2) I deleted the cache folder in case the images were cached - same error

    3) I tried uploading the image under a different name - same error

    What I need

A little bit of help 😊

    Thanks

Hi, Emily - Can you please review the Support Policy and follow those instructions so we can get you set up with the appropriate level of technical support?

    Thank you!

Emily, can you check in Admin -> Weblog Administration -> File Upload Preferences, and see if the path there is updated?

    Hi Lisa,

I have checked the file upload preferences and the server path and URL of the upload directory are correct.

Ok finally got it by doing a few update and replaces on the database tables and then deleting the database cache.

Odd- I would have bet on it being the file path/url.  Wonder if it was the db cache- would be my first bet.

But glad you got it working.  We good to close this one out?

Yep my bet would be that deleting the cache did it in the end! I’m just pleased its working. Go ahead and close. Thanks
