Submitting new entries does not save, then redirects back to publish page. Occurs for ‘admin’ and also non-admin users. Where should I start to diagnose this?

Update: Created brand new channel to test. Same issue.

    * Upgraded to EE 2.5.2

    Hi P. Colin Manikoth,

Are there any errors in the publish form? That’s usually the cause of something like this. Be sure to check all the tabs and look for the error message at the top of the screen. Let me know what you find!

    * Fix: Disabling all required fields allows for new entries to be created
    * No errors on any forms/tabs

For now, removing required fields is the workaround.

Hmm… so it sounds like one of the required fields was holding up the submission. Did you figure out which field was tripping it?

really weird - we having the same issue.

Brand new install of a website… all of a sudden, on any channel when we hit ‘Submit’ at the bottom… it just reloads and doesn’t save…

    same with when Edit any..

    Latest EE install of 2.5.2

Looking through each Tab once we click ‘Submit’ - on the Pages one we get “Invalid Page URI” - never had this before though!?

Disabling ‘Pages’ module makes everything work… Strange ?!

    Triad,

Did you happen to see what the Pages URI that was declared invalid was?

    Triad,

Did you happen to see what the Pages URI that was declared invalid was?

In the URL box, it has

    /example/pages/uri/

    Hello Triad,

I believe what Kevin is asking about is not the content of the box, but in the URI what was there that threw the message Invalid Page URI when you hit submit?

    Are you using any Add-Ons?

Are you using a .htaccess file? If so, can you show the contents of that file?

    Thank you!

It was an overlooked required field from a depreciated addon. Check for any required fields.

    Hi louisk,

Could you give me some more to go on? Are these new entries being created or existing entries being edited? When you go back to the publish page, is there an error displayed anywhere? Does this happen with all channels or only some? Is there a common fieldtype in all the channels that behave this way?

    Hi Kevin,
I tried to PM you via another topic on a similar/the same issue.
It not only happens in channels, but anywhere. Some times it does happen, other times is doesn’t.
It can happen when saving channel fiels.
I was hoping you could provide some more details about the exact security rules you referred to (http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/201987/).
