    Hello,
I have been trying to install EE 2.5.2 unsuccessfully for about a day now.
I can’t figure out what the problem is.

When Ran the Wizard all was fine but URL segments.

I am installing it on a goDaddy shared hosting, and after installation is supposedly successful, I can see my index page, but not any other page after that; they all have this error

    No input file specified.

I can also go to the control panel, which looks like is not linking to the themes. After I login in, all is broken (white background, blue indented list of links). If I try to click on any of these links I get an error page stating:

    An Error Was Encountered

Unable to load the requested file: admin/config_pages.php

I have tried modifying the config.php to change $config[‘uri_protocol’]  = “QUERY_STRING”;  as suggested here “http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/171220/” and here “http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/general/urls.html”

I have also updated the php.ini to add “cgi.fix_pathinfo=Off ” as suggested here “http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Workaround_for_Forced_Query_Strings”, but couldn’t find the “$path_info” in any of my index pages.

I really need help with this since I have a really short deadline with this project.

    BTW, the site is http://www.davidforflorida.com/index.php

    Thanks,
    Atiosis

Don’t know if this will help you: http://www.tyssendesign.com.au/articles/cms/expression-engine/no-input-file-specified-problem/

If you can avoid GoDaddy, do it.

Notice adding the ? after index.php works for you.

I don’t think I am using any htaccess to remove the index.php, unless goDaddy does that by default.

BTW, If I am to switch from goDaddy, who would you suggest?  I have already used anHosting, myDomain and Network Solutions; I have left each one for different issues.

There are many options. We’ve had no trouble with BlueHost.com or InMotionHosting.com, our main two hosting providers.

What about http://www.hostway.com? Is it a good option? Have you heard of them?
