    Hello,
I’ using ee 2.2.2 and I cannot login in the Control Panel. After entering my username and password the same login screen reappears without any error message or notification.

    - I’ve double checked the username and password
    - I tried loging in with another username and password but the same thing happens
    - The server is running php 5.2.17
    - I can access the database via phpMyAdmin

    Please help!

Hi Panos - do you have the $debug variable set to ‘1’ in your admin file? Depending on how you’re accessing your CP, it’ll either be:

    /system/index.php or /admin.php

Can you also enable logging from your config file and check to see if anything helpful is being output to the logs?

I am also having the same issue today with a site that has been previously working without a problem. Debug was set to “1” but I have set that to “0” and it makes no difference.

This affects the Control Panel and front facing user pages. Help!

I’m having exactly the same issue right now. I was able to login adding a setting to the config file.. but now NOTHING will save inside the cp..

Same specs: PHP 5.2.17 updated recently, would this be the cause?

I have enabled debugging everywhere, and the log_threshold is set to 1.
I don’t see any error messages recorded.
    What can I do?

    Wow…

Ok, since we have 3 separate questions going on now, I’ll do my best to sort out each one.

    Panos S.,
Did anything change prior to your inability to login? Did your host make any changes? Have you tried using the Forgot Password functionality to reset your password?

    Cheers,

    Cozmir,
Your post makes me think you entire site is down? Can you be more specific about how user facing functionality is impacted? Have you tried using the Forgot Password functionality?

    Cheers,

    Carlo,

Can you be more specific about what you changed in config.php? As well as what is meant by nothing saving in the CP? Nothing at all or just configuration changes?

    Cheers,

    Hello Dan,
I’m not sure there were any updates. This site is hosted on mediatemple.
I’m sending you a screenshot regaring php build dates and modules if it helps…

I’m on Media Temple as well. However, I do have other EE installs hosted there that are having no issues.

The password reset function work fine but the new password did not allow me to log in. Changing admin to sessions only in the config (and clearing the browser cache/cookies) had no affect.

At one point this afternoon when I changed debug from 0 to 1 in Admin.php it allowed me to log in and see the dashboard but immediately knocked me back to the login screen as soon as a clicked a tab.

I have tested in Firefox, Safari and Chrome. My client has tested in IE and Firefox with the same result.

In Safari it actually appears to log in momentarily and hang then goes back to the login screen.

My entire site is not down. I do have a section of the site that has extended functionality for members once logged in. (Not through the control panel.) Login on that side of things doesn’t work either.

Keep in mind that this site has been launched and working perfectly for a month and we have made no changes. This issue occurred out of the blue this morning.

Almost same here. Switching debug to 1 didn’t change anything. The site has been running flawlessly for several months. Unable to login on the frontend either…

    cozmir,

What level of service are on with (mt)? Is there anyway you can restart your server and see if that clears this out? It is very odd to have it just stop working like this. Can you try using cookies only for the time being? Just as a troubleshooting measure.

    Cheers,

    @all,

There seems to be an issue cropping up with 2.2.2 and PHP 5.2.17. These have been escalated to the Devs.

    Cheers,

Yeah.. I figured it was an EE issue with PHP 5.2.17.. that’s the only thing they have updated on (gs) as far as i’m concerned.

    @Dan Decker,
I added “$config[‘admin_session_type’] = “c”;” to the config and it lets me login. Now I just can’t save ANYTHING (entries, templates, settings). It all redirects to the cp homepage on every save/update.

I’m having the same issue (I’m on MediaTemple too), and it’s a pain because I’m supposed to teach my client how to log in and update her site tomorrow morning.
