Sorry, but to be more specific ... the public-facing site works fine. I went through the password change exercise as well and it didn’t allow me to log on either ... just sent me back to the login page.

Is this something that MT is fixing? I don’t have the time or the knowledge to hack config files ...

    Thanks for any updates,
    j

    jtoast,

Yes, this is a (mt) related issue, and they are actively trying to fix it. You can contact them for support and I will alert them to this thread. They are working with us to resolve this by asking to post on threads with affected users. We’ll keep updating you all as we get news from (mt), but the best thing to do is contact them directly.

    Cheers,

    Hello folks,

My name is Jerry, and am a senior tech support lead with Media Temple (apologies for the confusion on the user names). This is a post I was able to set up in another thread where we are seeing customers facing the same issues.  I will also be checking back to thread (http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/199339) periodically for the day (~9:00PM PT) so I can answer your replies and questions.

The issue everyone is experiencing is related to a cluster root upgrade we performed 2 days ago.  This affected the available versions of PHP for users on (gs) Grid-Service Cluster.08.  After reviewing the available information, we have decided to revert this change, which should already be in progress or completed.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone still affected by this, after the next 30 minutes or so, please open a support request in their AccountCenter with a description of the issue you are experiencing.  Also, please put “ATTN - Jerry - ExpressionEngine” in the subject so they will find me quickly.

I greatly apologize for these changes made without warning.  I want to see this fixed ASAP so everyone can return to their day-to-day work.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

PS - Please avoid placing any account specific data into public forums such as this.  You are free to PM this information if you wish, but all communication will need to go through the support request, as I may not be the one replying to you at a later date.

Admin login is working again! Thanks, Jerry and Dan, for your help on resolving this issue. I will keep an eye out for any other issues.

    Many thanks,
    Jenny

I am running 2.2.2 and having login issues on my hostgator account which is on PHP 5.2.17
Upgraded from 2.1.3. Seems to refresh the page without any errors. Tried resetting my password but that did not help.

Although I can access the control panel via my local hosted version of the site. Running on PHP 5.2.6

    thkro,

I’m sorry you are experiencing this. Did this problem arise right after you updated? Have you been able to login to 2.2.2 at all?

    Cheers,

I’m having this issue on my dev server and have not updated anything… What did MT do to fix it?

    kokako,

The issue with (mt) was *very* specific to their setup. It wasn’t directly related to ExpressionEngine or PHP 5.2.17. Is your dev server on (mt)? Or locally hosted? Can you provide us with a few more details regarding your particular setup, we can start troubleshooting your issue.

What version of EE are your having trouble with? Did you make any changes to any part of your setup between now and the last time you were able to login?

    Cheers,

The dev server is local and I did not make any changes since I was last able to log in.

I had recently updated to 2.2.2 and had no problems after the update. Then suddenly I was not able to login to admin.

    kokako,

Have you tried using the “Forgot Password” link to reset your password? That’s a good first step to handling a mangled password. Let us know if that doesn’t work for you.

um, it was not a password issue… it gave no error. Password reset did not work. Did a fresh install and pointed the config to the same DB and the error was back. Then I suspected it was something in the DB, so I re-built it, by table by table, now it’s ok.
