Hello,
Tried a fresh install of the latest build tonight, but was getting Internal Server Errors after installing.
I enabled debugging, and was then presented with:
Fatal error: Class ‘CI_Controller’ not found in /var/www/vhosts/********/httpdocs/cms/codeigniter/system/core/CodeIgniter.php on line 224
I’ve rolled back to a previous build of 2.1.4 and it’s working fine - so this appears to be something wrong with the latest build.

I have the same error. Environment is MAMP Pro 1.9.4 PHP 5.3.2 and 5.2.13.
