Born in South Africa. Educated at (among others) The Central High School and the Witwatersrand University (Chemical Engineering.) 6 Years with IBM as Field Engineer and Systems Analyst. 23 Years with Control Data Corporation, heading up various operations (South Africa, Australia, USA.) Took American citizenship in 1995. Participated in a Summer Business School at Harvard. Promoted to Vice President at Control Data - burned out on corporate politics and quit after three years. Consulted to small American manufacturers/exporters for 7 years. Was inspired by their amazing talents and energies. Went entrepreneuring. Was given a thorough market-driven bollicking. Recovered - still entrepreneuring - own and manage an espresso bar and cybercafé in a village railway station - operating secure web-based services for two law-enforcement-related operations, among other web-based services.
