I’ve been working in Safari 5 for the last week…. More often than not, there is a blank screen after interacting with any of the control panel links.

The issue most recently occured after I checked “Save template as file.” But has happened If I click any of the “tabs” at the top, or any interaction that changes the screen in the control panel…

Is anyone else having this issue?

    I’m hosted on Dreamhost

It seems that if I refresh sometimes the page comes up, if I click a link “quickly” it seems to be more likely to happen.

I have to manually remove the queries in the URL and just start back at http://www.site.com/admin/ to get the admin panel to show correctly.

Pretty sure this is a Safari 5 caching issue. I switched to Firefox and things are peachy. I’d still be interested to know if other Safari users are experiencing it. Super annoying - if its related to Safari, Apple should be aware.

This occurs with me too when I use Safari 5 as well. It just blanks out or the tabs in the publish page stop working inexplicably. Using Chrome (webkit as well) does not have this problem, so I feel that it’s isolated to Safari. But I wonder why the other browsers are okay?

It seems to be only Safari 5 - just checked an older version.

Just spoke with a tech consultant who does a lot of business networking, and he says that when logging into certain routers web-based control panels using javascript the same issue appears in Safari-5

Using Firefox or Chrome is my fix for now…

Quick note- we’re keeping an eye on the Safari caching issue- you might see if this approach solves the problem- related to gzip and browser handling.

Thanks Gareth. As Robin said, we’re keeping an eye out for this issue with Safari.
