This question may be related to a resolved thread and resolved thread

After the dozenth attempt to troubleshoot this issue over the past year, I have no resolution.  Jquery simply does not function and I found yet another critical add-on that doesn’t work as a result.

In addition to all of the usual suggestions for disabling extensions, I’ve read through and made every effort to apply the suggestions noted in both of the above related links - although I have no idea what this means “mismatch of the file in cp.jquery where the googles api used was 1.7.1 and the one in the jquery admin settings was 1.7.2”

Nothing has made a difference - although I will have to admit to not understanding how disabling all extensions via the big green button helps considering that Jquery for the Control Panel is an extension and once it’s off, you can’t turn it back on.  Scratching my head over that.

I also tried disabling extensions, renaming the extension folder, creating a new extension folder and placing within it ext.cp_jquery.php and ext.edit_tab_ajax.php to test whether it would function as expected.  Did not work.

In short, I am at a loss and I’ve got a site that is growing by the day with the anticipated launch of a shopping cart in three days and I can’t get new members posting to a mailing list because the add-on requires Jquery to be operational.

I need some ideas and I’m hoping someone can help.

    Cheers,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Okay, there’s a fair bit of confusion I think. Let’s try and reduce this down to the basic problem. Firstly, how many extensions do you have enabled in your site? Please list them all.

    Cheers

    Paul,

What browser are you using? FYI, Edit Tab Ajax does not work in IE

Safari, primarily. Firefox displays the same issues.

Paul, after glancing through the two threads you mentioned… I’m still not sure what your issue is.

Is it that Edit Tab AJAX doesn’t function ?

Sorry if my initial explanation was vague.

I’ve described this as “Jquery does not function” because I have three separate add-ons that require Jquery to function for specific features.  None of the add-on functions that specifically utilize jQuery work.  My untechnical assumption is that jQuery is being suppressed somehow.

    Specifically:
    Playa - Keyword field
SL Freshview Subscribe - requires jQuery to retrieve mailing lists after API has been input
Edit Tab Ajax - does not function

Edit Tab Ajax I can live without, but as my site grows and as I’m adding products tied to member-specific offers, I’m rapidly getting to the point where not having Playa fully functional and SL Freshview not working at all are major problems.

Yes, I’ve contacted Brandon regarding Playa numerous times since last year. No solutions have been proffered. And, I just discovered the SL Freshview recently after installing and attempting to set up the extension.

As I noted above, I even disabled, then renamed, the extensions folder on the server in order to test whether Edit Tab Ajax would work if ONLY the JQuery for the CP extension and it were placed in the extension folder.  Still nothing.

I’m at a loss after having gone through the extensions troubleshooting procedure a half dozen times over the past year and I’m in need of any suggestion that could explain why so many add-ons that use jQuery are partially or fully non-functional.

So, I’m looking for ideas. The standard extensions testing advice has not yielded any answers or results.

So, basically, this is an issue with Playa, “SL Freshview Subscribe” and “Edit Tab Ajax”? GEtting any error messages at all?
