Interested to know how many people use IE7?

Looks like readability is very good in IE7 and my favorite font arial appears crisp and clear?

Just curious to hear a feedback on this?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! ONLY USE IE FOR TESTING PURPOSES! IE IS THE ANAL DISCHARGE OF THE DEVIL!!! I HOPE YOU ARE GETTING HOW SERIOUS THIS IS BECAUSE OF MY OVERUSE OF THE CAPS LOCK.

haha but for real why would you use IE when there are better browsers out there? firefox, chrome, safari, opera… all better than ie. if you are really going to use IE please upgrade to IE8.

Why is it I noticed that on this guys intro thread, but not this one 😖
I think I’m just passionate anti IE, and saw some responses already, so wasn’t even vigilant

How dare you to talk like that, didn’t your mother told you not to swear in public ?
Anyway, I only use Internet Explorer 8 (and 7 in compatibility mode) when debugging, using Parallels.

to sum all of this up. IE is not a browser to use regularly. it is only to be used when you have a well stocked supply of alcohol to drown out the annoying bugs that non technical clients find.

    Hear, hear.

Unfortunately I am stuck with that bane to all existence at work. At home I switch between Safari and Firefox, sometimes Chrome. I use a Mac, so IE isn’t even a (serious) possibility. 😛

I stick to Firefox for nearly everything, though I do use Epiphany now and then, especially for cookie testing.  I do have an old hard drive with WinXP on it in my tower and that has IE7 for those times when I need to test it out.  My laptop can also boot into Vista for those times when I think 4GB of RAM is actually enough and want to be convinced otherwise… and to test IE8 😉

In fact, I recently got an email from a visitor of one of my personal sites about a display problem.  Of course, it was an issue with IE (in this case, I had two blocks floating left, then a block that cleared left… which worked fine, but the next block floated halfway on one of the original two… yeah, it didn’t make sense to me either).

For personal stuff, I do limited IE testing, but obviously job-related tasks require much more thorough testing, so I have to have as many browsers available as possible when working remotely.

I follow the rule of “if it aint broke you’re not viewing it in IE” (or your markup is so dodgy IE cant break it further) 😛 hehe

I do use IE just to check cross browser compatibility, but I also check the pages in text based browsers like lynx
