    Hey all…

Just looking for others thoughts on our economy….  Projects slowing down?  Same?  Better then ever?

Just wondering how others are seeing things…

Our market is largely sports and entertainment, which aren’t necessarily struggling right now. We did have one pretty big contract that went belly up overnight. They simply ran out of money and the plug got pulled. But we aren’t hurting right now.

We just had to replan 2009 because of additional projects.
Maybe because others have gone belly up but in our fishpond no problems

Busier than ever.  A lot of my clients are corporate and they have scaled back their in-house devs and outsourcing more.

I would agree. Our work slowed in December and I thought it might be a sign of things to come. However, we’re very busy now to the point of needing to grow out team.

I wish I had the time to take all the projects I would like to have.

I should probably consider outsourcing so I can take on more clients.  You know, locate the clients, set up the arrangements, then find designers and developers who can do the job, and I get a small finder’s fee.  Something like that.

I’ve been working on having the contracts that I use “re-drawn” this week so that I can include that possibility with future clients.  As it stands, the contracts I have done in the past stipulate that I must do the work.  That’s changing, and who knows, perhaps I’ll end up with a company one day as opposed to a one-man operation like it is now.

I think the work slowing down will depend on the old economic “supply and demand.”  As long as the demand for web work is higher than the supply of web developers, then web developers are going to do well.  Once the market is flooded with web developers, then it’s going to be a rough living.

    Right now, not too bad.

If anyone needs help outsourcing I just finished a project up this past week and am taking a 2 week vacation.  Don’t have anything lined up after that.  PM me and I’ll send my resume.

We haven’t actually gone into production with my new company. All we do for now is developing products for ‘would-be’ clients.

And I’d be hesitant to become a freelancer at this time.
