I’ve search and I’ve read most of the posts on this. However there does not seem to be a definite answer.

Is Prev & Next entry within a Category not officially supported? See: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewreply/416497/

The User guide doesn’t give an answer except for Simon Cox’s comment: http://expressionengine.com/docs/modules/weblog/entry_linking.html#457

Is this the correct way to have prev & next entry within a category?

That works within weblog:entries

So now how do you make a single entry page know whether you’ve come from a category page or not?
