    Hi

I’ve never used Movable Type before. I’d just like to ask how it compares to EE.

    Just curious

    Thanks

Best way to see is to download a copy of MT ‘Pro’ (it’s free), install it, and see for yourself.

There are too many differences to list, really.

Although they *can* overlap in functionality for a couple of uses (weblog publishing, mostly) EE and MT are very different things.

    Thanks.

I’m just learning to use EE now so I might leave MT for when I’ve got some free time. I keep reading about MT but I’ve just never tried it.

    Have fun

FWIW, I dropped MT for EE when my attempt to upgrade to MT3 imploded. They’re now up to MT4 and at least two people whose sites I read regularly (and at least two others I read slightly less than regularly) have gone over to Wordpress rather than keep trying to make MT4 work.

Is that because of it’s dependence on Perl? I have to admit I found the support pages for MT4 Opensource to be rather on the geeky side. I’m still assuming MT4 is a good cms but life will be much simpler when I get up to speed with EE.

    Thanks.

You can take a boo at the following links… they were something I came across a while ago when I was just surfing around. The first one does compare an older version of EE but most of the points are rather generic and still hold true.
