Very quick question: sort weblog entries by status?

I searched a bit but these are just very common words and no luck after 3 searches to 10 pages each.

I have a small weblog for services, and I thought I would use a custom status to track the real status of the service. I realise that statuses are mostly meant for workflow, but it seemed like a simple way to do it.

Is there a way to order weblog entries by the status value? I would hate to have to use 4 weblog:entries tags with hardcoded status :S

    Greetings!

I think you’d want to use the orderby=”“ parameter, but I do not think it’s going to order by the status.

I’ll double check for you, but I think using the 4 weblog entries tags might be the way you need to go.  If you’re making sure to use the disable parameter, I don’t think you’ll see a noticeable performance hit.

I ended up doing that, and for this small content type there was no penalty

I won’t be using the status field for entry status anymore, will leave it for workflow status. Especially since you have to remember to add the custom statuses to every tag you use, which is probably something you’ll forget everytime you go back to the site after months

yeah, exactly my thoughts.  I’m glad you have a good working solution now.  I’m closing this one out, but please don’t hesitate to start a new thread should anything else come up!
