With Expression Engine 2.0 rolling in, I am very unsure about implementing Solspace’s Gallery Extended and User modules in a new project. Particularly the User module, will this be needed in with Expression Engine 2.0? While I know I probably won’t get any answers, I am simply assuming that 2.0 finally provides an easier, less painful way to customize the ee user section.

    Any thoughts on this?

My only thought would be to use what is available now to build the site you need now. If you can wait to build the site until after EE 2.0 is released (and there isn’t a date yet, so consider that, too) then by all means wait. 😊

Always use what’s currently available, never assumption that software you haven’t actually used will do what you need. If EE 1.6.5 + Solspace add-ons meets your projects requirements, then build now.
