    Hi folks,
Can some one explain the general purpose of wiki?

Also please comment on whether or not you think a wiki could be useful for a real estate sales web site.

For example would a useful purpose be real estate sales faq? Any other ideas?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

A wiki is great anytime you’re trying to compile resources as a community. A real estate wiki could work, but you’d most likely need a specific focus.

For example, I see your site is about Panama City Beach real estate. So you could create a wiki where your community could compile information on every subdivision/condominium in the Panama City area. You could include information about the subdivision (how many homes, how old), and include median price, yard size, square footage, etc.

You could also create pages around certain landmarks around town, and link to those pages from the subdivision pages that are close to those landmarks.

There are a lot of possibilities here. They key is that you can’t do all this alone, and a wiki allows your community to provide support.

Thank you very much for the explanation and the ideas…I can see how a wiki used properly for a real estate site may be very helpful in getting some love from the search engines. 😊
