I need to send a batch email out through my EE mailing list and the EngineHosting folks told me I need to set my batch for a “... time with about a 1-2 second interval between sends.” This thread—http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/61676/—deals with this issue, but I’m not really clear about what the solution is.

Does anyone have any experience, and tips to share, on how to get this “1-2 second interval” set up so that my batch goes through cleanly?

Actually don’t worry about the interval part, I think that slipped in from them thinking of an answer to a different application.  Just set the batch size as recommended and use sendmail instead of phpmail and you should be fine.
