This question may be related to a resolved thread.
I’ve read through a number of related forum threads as well as the docs, but I’m still struggling with my configuration of Multiple Site Manager.
Here’s where I’m at:
1. I have a ‘default’ site in development at domainA which has MSM installed and I have created a new site for domainB, with my client’s purchased full license and MSM license respectively. The new site was created with default values of ‘Do Nothing’ across the board.
2. Both domains sit on the same server and shared IP.
3. I have full installations of EE 1.6.4 in place at both domains.
4. Both sites have renamed system folders (the same name used on each domain), but I’ll refer to these directories as ‘system’ below.
5. I have removed ‘index.php’ from domainA’s installation using LG’s .htaccess generator.
6. For expedient short-term reasons, domainB’s index page is set to index2.php.

I’d like to confirm how to complete the create site step that says…
Admin—> System Preferences: Update the System Preferences to match the URL you will be using for the new Site.
I ask only because having done it once, things didn’t work for me, so I then de-installed and then re-installed MSM.

Within {domainB Site Label} > Admin > System Preferences > General Configuration, I presume I need to enter the following:
Name of your site’s index page: index2.php
URL to the root directory of your site: domainB
URL to your Control Panel index page: http://domainb/system/index.php
URL to your “themes” folder: http://domainb/themes/
Theme Folder Path: {local host's path to domainB/themes}
————————
When I tried this before the Control Panel theme broke completely, so, before I go on to sort out my path.php and index2.php for domainB, please confirm that I have the above straight.
Thanks.
